Madd Ink is the culmination of the tattooing, design work and event hosting a history of the owner, Mark Madden, who started out in Buffalo in his small, one-man tattoo studio in Allentown, then known as Madd Grafix Tattooing. Since the inception of the first small shop, the Madd Grafix family of studios expanded to include Madd Tattoo, Madd Tiki and Madd Loco, as well as today's Madd Ink studio.
In order to better serve our clients, all of our locations are now in the consolidated home at Madd Ink Tattoo & Piercing, located at 408 Amherst St. in Buffalo, NY, a block away from Buffalo State College, the growing Blackrock neighborhood! This space houses the separate studio rooms of 4 distinct tattoo artists and our resident, experienced piercer. Within this studio, our range of artists can cover any type and style of tattoo work, from small pieces to ongoing large projects.
Our home on Amherst St. also includes some unique features, such as the rotating "Guerilla Gallery" of artwork, hosted in our waiting room in the studio. We are also happy to have our warehouse event space and print house, located behind the studio. This indoor/outdoor space is the home of monthly art and music events hosted by the staff of Madd Ink, as well as being used for events hosted by different groups throughout Buffalo.
The studio is open seven days a week from noon to 8 pm – Give us a call at 716-783-7652 with any questions or to schedule an appointment with one of our skilled professional artists today!
We get a lot of phone calls and emails about general tattoo and piercing inquiries, so feel free to contact us at 716-783-7652 with any questions. Here’s a few that we hear the most:
Make sure that you're well hydrated and that you've eaten before you come in to be tattooed. We also suggest that you avoid using alcohol or taking aspirin for about 24 hours before your appointment to avoid the blood-thinning effects of these substances. We also suggest wearing loose fitting, comfortable clothing that can offer easy access to the location you are looking to have tattooed.
After getting a new tattoo, make sure to wash the tattoo twice daily with warm water and soap. Pat dry with a paper towel and apply a thin layer of Aquaphor to the tattoo. Do not pick or scratch at any scabbing, allow it to come off on its own. Scabbing will usually flake off within 7-10 days, be sure to keep the area clean and continue to use Aquaphor or a "Tattoo Care Lotion" until healed. Wear clean, loose clothing to protect the area while healing.
Do not expose a healing tattoo to direct sun, swimming, hot tub soaking, unclean conditions, irritating clothing or anything else that may hinder the healing process.
Once the tattoo is fully healed and for years to come, be sure to use a high SPF sunblock when exposing your skin to direct sun.
At Madd Ink Tattoo and Piercing, any piercing is fair game. Our piercer has over two decades of experience with basic and exotic types of piercings. Please contact the shop directly at 716-783-7652 with any questions about the type of piercings and/or pricing.
